Terms of Service
Last updated: August 14, 2026 · Effective: August 28, 2026 · Edge Ventures, Inc.
1. Agreement
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) form a binding agreement between you and Edge Ventures, Inc. (“Edge Ventures,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) governing your access to and use of Aegis Edge: Maven, including the Maven mobile application, web interface, and all related services (collectively, the “Service”). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms in full. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
2. Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old to use Maven.
- You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your jurisdiction.
- You may maintain only one account per person. Duplicate accounts may be suspended without notice.
- If you are using Maven on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.
3. Service description
Maven is a voice-first AI assistant that connects to third-party services you authorize and takes actions on your behalf through natural conversation. The Service is currently provided as beta software. Features may be incomplete, subject to change, and may not perform as expected.
Maven is powered by large language models and AI reasoning systems. Responses and actions generated by Maven are probabilistic outputs — they are not guaranteed to be accurate, complete, or appropriate for your specific situation. You are responsible for reviewing any material action Maven proposes before relying on it.
The Service is licensed to you, not sold. Your account grants you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, non-sublicensable, revocable right to access and use the Service for as long as your account remains active and in good standing, similar to leasing access to a cloud platform. You do not acquire ownership of any underlying software, infrastructure, or AI models. Edge Ventures reserves all rights not expressly granted. Where you obtained the Maven mobile application from the Apple App Store, your license to that application is additionally governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement and by Section 18 below.
4. Authorized third-party actions
A core feature of Maven is its ability to take real actions in third-party services — sending emails, creating calendar events, querying databases, submitting forms, and more — on your behalf via Maven’s Enclave agent. By connecting a third-party service, you authorize Maven to interact with that service within the scope of your voice requests.
Actions may be executed autonomously without a confirmation step. While the Enclave may pause to request your confirmation for certain sensitive actions, this is not guaranteed for every operation. By using the Service, you accept that Maven may act immediately on your spoken intent. Edge Ventures is not liable for errors, unintended consequences, data loss, or third-party service disruptions arising from actions Maven takes on your behalf — including but not limited to emails sent in error, calendar events created or deleted, files modified or removed, and queries executed against databases.
You may revoke Maven’s access to any connected service at any time by contacting support@generals.ai. Credentials are purged within 30 days of a confirmed revocation request.
5. Account security
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to notify us immediately at support@generals.ai if you suspect unauthorized access. Edge Ventures is not liable for losses resulting from unauthorized use of your account.
6. Shared responsibility for security
Maven operates on a shared responsibility model, similar to enterprise cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure. Edge Ventures is responsible for the security of the platform — the infrastructure, servers, and systems that run the Service. You are responsible for the security of your configuration — including which services you connect, what permissions you grant, and how you use Maven’s agentic capabilities.
When you connect a third-party service, you are granting Maven permission to act within that service on your behalf. The scope of that access is determined entirely by you. Edge Ventures does not review, audit, restrict, or limit the permissions you choose to authorize. If you grant broad or administrative access — such as full mailbox access, database write permissions, or file system access — Maven will operate within that scope.
You accept full responsibility for the consequences of your configuration choices, including:
- Data exposure or leakage resulting from over-permissioned connections you authorized.
- Unauthorized access to connected services resulting from compromised account credentials.
- Actions taken by Maven within the scope of access you provided, including irreversible actions such as deleted files, sent messages, or modified records.
- Security incidents in third-party services that stem from the permissions you granted, misconfigured OAuth scopes, or API keys left active after they are no longer needed.
Use caution. Grant Maven only the access it needs for the tasks you intend. Revoke access to services you no longer use. Treat Maven like any other system you give credentials to — the risk profile of what you connect is yours to manage.
7. Acceptable use
You agree to use Maven only for lawful purposes and consistent with these Terms. You agree not to:
- Use Maven to access systems, accounts, or data you are not authorized to access.
- Transmit, generate, or solicit content that is illegal, abusive, threatening, defamatory, or that infringes third-party intellectual property rights.
- Use Maven to develop competing AI products or services, or to extract data for training external AI models.
- Copy, modify, create derivative works of, reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the Service, or circumvent any security or access controls — except to the extent that any of the foregoing restrictions is prohibited by applicable law, or is permitted by the licensing terms governing any open-source components included in the Service.
- Scrape, crawl, or extract data from the Service by automated means without written permission.
- Use Maven to facilitate spam, phishing, fraud, or any deceptive practice.
- Impersonate any person or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
- Use Maven in any way that violates Anthropic’s Usage Policy, which governs the underlying AI models.
8. AI limitations and no-reliance
Maven’s outputs — including transcriptions, responses, summaries, and actions — are generated by AI and may contain errors, omissions, or outdated information. You acknowledge that:
- Maven is not a substitute for professional legal, medical, financial, or other expert advice.
- You should independently verify any information or action before relying on it for important decisions.
- Maven may misinterpret voice input, especially in noisy environments or with accents and dialects.
- AI-generated outputs may reflect biases or inaccuracies inherent in underlying models.
9. Pricing, purchases, and billing
Paid download. The Maven application is a paid download. The current price is the price shown on the Apple App Store or Google Play listing at the time you purchase, and it is charged by that store, not by Edge Ventures. This one-time purchase price is separate from, and in addition to, any in-app purchases described below.
Complimentary monthly allotment. Your account includes a recurring monthly allotment of complimentary compute, which resets at the start of each calendar month (Pacific time) and does not accrue or carry over. The current allotment is displayed in the app.
Credits. Usage beyond your complimentary allotment draws on credits. Credits measure the underlying serving cost of your usage — voice transcription, AI reasoning, speech synthesis, and agent execution — and are consumed as you use the Service. You may obtain credits either as one-time credit packs or through an auto-renewing subscription. Prices, credit amounts, and billing frequency are displayed in the app at the time of purchase. When your complimentary allotment and credit balance are both exhausted, voice sessions are paused until you add credits or your allotment resets.
Subscriptions. Subscriptions renew automatically at the price and interval shown at purchase. Your store account is charged for renewal within 24 hours before the end of the current period, unless you turn off auto-renewal at least 24 hours before that period ends. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your device’s app store account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current period. Edge Ventures does not process billing directly — all purchases, renewals, and refunds are handled by the Apple App Store or Google Play under those stores’ terms and refund policies.
Price changes. Edge Ventures reserves the right to modify pricing, the complimentary allotment, or the credit rate with at least 30 days’ notice for existing users. Continued use after the notice period constitutes acceptance of the change. Price increases to an active subscription take effect only in accordance with the applicable store’s rules, which may require your consent.
10. Your content and data
You retain ownership of all content you provide to Maven, including voice inputs, conversation history, and any data from connected third-party services. By using the Service, you grant Edge Ventures a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to process your content solely to operate and provide the Service.
Edge Ventures does not sell your content to third parties and does not use your data to train AI models. Maven retains session memory solely to provide continuity across your conversations. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
11. Intellectual property
The Service, including its software, design, trademarks, and all content created by Edge Ventures, is the property of Edge Ventures and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Nothing in these Terms grants you any rights to our intellectual property beyond the limited right to use the Service as described herein.
12. Disclaimer of warranties
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, ACCURACY, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. EDGE VENTURES DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS. AS BETA SOFTWARE, THE SERVICE MAY HAVE BUGS, UNEXPECTED BEHAVIOR, OR FEATURE GAPS.
13. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, EDGE VENTURES AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND SERVICE PROVIDERS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES ARISING FROM YOUR USE OF OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE. THIS INCLUDES, WITHOUT LIMITATION:
- Errors in actions taken by Maven on your behalf in third-party services
- Loss or corruption of data
- Unauthorized access to your account or connected services
- Service interruptions or downtime
- Inaccuracies in AI-generated responses
IN NO EVENT SHALL EDGE VENTURES’ TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM OR (B) ONE HUNDRED DOLLARS ($100 USD).
Where your use of the Maven mobile application is governed by Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement, that agreement separately limits the licensor’s total liability to fifty dollars ($50.00). To avoid any conflict: the limit in this Section 13 is the limit that applies to claims arising from the Service as a whole, and nothing in this Section is intended to increase any lower limit that applies to the licensed application itself under Apple’s agreement. Where the two overlap, the limit more protective of Edge Ventures shall control.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of liability for personal injury, or of incidental or consequential damages, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
14. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Edge Ventures and its affiliates, officers, directors, employees, and agents from any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, and costs (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service; (b) your violation of these Terms; (c) any actions Maven takes in third-party services on your behalf; or (d) your violation of any third party’s rights.
15. Termination
You may delete your account at any time via Profile → Delete Account. Deleting your account terminates these Terms and triggers deletion of your data per our Privacy Policy.
Edge Ventures may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without notice, for violation of these Terms, misuse of the Service, or conduct deemed harmful to other users or the platform. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ends immediately. Sections 10 (Your content and data), 11 (Intellectual property), 12 (Disclaimer of warranties), 13 (Limitation of liability), 14 (Indemnification), 17 (Governing law and disputes), and 18 (Apple App Store — additional terms) survive termination.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via in-app notification or email at least 14 days before the change takes effect. Continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and delete your account.
17. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. The United Nations Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods does not apply.
Subject to the two paragraphs below, any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the state and federal courts located in Los Angeles County, California, and you consent to personal jurisdiction in those courts.
Claims involving Apple. Apple’s Licensed Application End User License Agreement designates the courts of Santa Clara County, California for disputes arising under that agreement. These Terms do not alter that designation: any dispute arising under Apple’s agreement, or in which Apple is a party or a necessary participant, shall be brought in the forum that agreement specifies. The Los Angeles County forum above applies to disputes between you and Edge Ventures concerning the Service.
Consumers outside the United States. If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Norway, or Iceland, nothing in this Section deprives you of the protection of the mandatory law of your country of residence, and you may bring proceedings in the courts of your usual place of residence. Where such mandatory law applies, it governs to the extent of any conflict with this Section.
18. Apple App Store — additional terms
This Section applies only if you obtained the Maven mobile application from the Apple App Store, and controls over any conflicting provision elsewhere in these Terms in that case.
- These Terms are between you and Edge Ventures only, and not with Apple. Edge Ventures, not Apple, is solely responsible for the Maven application and its content.
- Your use of the application must comply with the App Store Terms of Service and the Usage Rules set out in Apple’s Media Services Terms and Conditions.
- Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services for the application. All support requests should be directed to support@generals.ai.
- In the event the application fails to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the application to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple has no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the application, and any other claims, losses, liabilities, damages, costs, or expenses attributable to any failure to conform to any warranty are the sole responsibility of Edge Ventures.
- Apple is not responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the application or your possession and use of it, including product liability claims, any claim that the application fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement, and claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
- In the event of any third-party claim that the application or your possession and use of it infringes that third party’s intellectual property rights, Edge Ventures, not Apple, is solely responsible for the investigation, defense, settlement, and discharge of that claim.
- You represent and warrant that you are not located in a country subject to a U.S. Government embargo or designated as a “terrorist supporting” country, and that you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties. You further agree not to use the application for any purpose prohibited by United States law.
- Apple and Apple’s subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms, and upon your acceptance of these Terms Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Where the Maven application is obtained from Google Play, the equivalent provisions of the Google Play Terms of Service apply in place of this Section, and Google is not a party to these Terms.
